Who We Are
Light House Charity Organization (LHCO) is a non-profit organization based in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. We are dedicated to addressing the complex social and humanitarian challenges faced by vulnerable populations, including:
Our mission is to rehabilitate, empower, and reintegrate fistula survivors and GBV-affected women and their children. We aim to help them heal physically, emotionally, and economically by providing:
- Basic literacy and life skills training
- Economic opportunities
- Strong psychosocial support
We envision a future where survivors live with dignity, self-reliance, and equal opportunity. A future where they are free from stigma and capable of leading meaningful, fulfilling lives.
Sexual violence and obstetric fistula inflict profound physical and emotional wounds, often leading to severe social isolation. LHCO exists to break this cycle. We help women rebuild their lives, reintegrate into society, and ultimately thrive. Our holistic model promotes deep healing, instills hope, and fosters long-term transformation for survivors and their families.
